# How did it start?

Let me introduce myself to give you a bit of background on how Origine came to be.

I go by **TheGuillotine**. I joined the Axie Infinity and Ronin ecosystem in August 2021, diving into the world of Web3 gaming. After buying my first team of Axies, I quickly connected with the vibrant Discord community. Just a few weeks in, the Axie team invited me to become a channel mod for the French-speaking community, a role I was excited to accept. Over the past three years, I’ve spent countless hours with the community, experiencing both highs and lows together.

By 2024, I felt that the Axie collection had untapped potential, especially when it came to bringing these digital assets into the physical world. Inspired by videos of people opening packs of sports, Pokemon, and One Piece cards, I began to imagine a physical collectible series for our beloved Axies. The idea of holding a card that features a unique Axie from the community really resonated with me, and I felt it was finally time to bring that vision to life.\

When I shared the concept with community members, their excitement matched my own.

While we all enjoy collecting assets digitally, there’s something truly special about seeing our favorite Axie on a physical item.

### Time to find the artist!

The next step was finding the right artist. I wanted each card in our debut collection to showcase unique artwork crafted by a member of the Axie community. Snowy, a talented artist I’ve admired for years, immediately came to mind. I reached out, and she agreed to take on the challenge as our lead artist. To our good fortune, she even brought in additional support from another skilled artist, Papanorren.

And so, Origine was born—a community-driven collectible project, bringing our favorite Axies to life in a whole new way.
